Creating Art with Frosting Workshops Offered June 14 at Runnymede

The Nescatunga Arts and Humanities Council is offering a workshop to learn more about creating art with frosting at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 14, at the Runnymede in downtown Alva. This workshop is $25 per person and is open to 10 participants. It will include gift bags.

The two-section workshop will be led by April Ridgway, owner of Sunflower Road Sweets and chair of the Nescatunga Arts Festival Sugar Show contest.

The first section will be over Fondant vs Buttercream showing how to make two versions of a marble effect on a cake using both fondant and buttercream frosting to finish a cake. The second section will show how to create two classic edible flowers with fondant – a rose and a sunflower.

If interested in attending please register with Ridgway at (580) 748-4880 or maxandapril@hotmail.com by June 13. Payment may be made at the event.
